"Tango can be danced in a thousand different ways, but . . . Without the music there is no dance, no tango, no teacher, no student. A true teacher can only transmit the teaching the music has left him."
"Tete" Pedro Rusconi

Fabio & Ana

Fabio Robles was a registered dance teacher with the prestigious qualification of Maestro Superior de Danzas Folkloricas in Argentina before he arrived in Australia and had danced professionally with the Emilio Brizuela Dance Company after a scholarship at the Conservatorium Gatell in Buenos Aires. In 2002 he was awarded a Centenary medal in the Queens honour list for his services to multicultural music and the Latin American communities in Australia. Fabio is recognised throughout Australasia as a teacher, choreographer (for stage and TV) and stage show director.
Ana Cristina Andre studied modern dance and jazz dance before training in Latin American dance with Fabio Robles. She and Fabio were the winners of the Australian Tango Stage Championship in 2005 and came 8th in the World Championship held in Buenos Aires. They won the last Australian Championship again in 2009 and are the current Australian Tango Stage Champions.

Fabio and Ana are the directors of the Robles Dance Academy in Melbourne.

Felipe & Sandra

Felipe and Sandra started dancing tango in 2002 and 2005 respectively and started their tango partnership in 2008 despite living in different cities at that time. Felipe was an industrial designer in Taipei and Sandra was a banker in Hong Kong. In 2011 they both resigned from their respective positions to fully devote their time to tango, teaching and performing mainly in Taipei and also in Hong Kong and Seoul. To be dancing at this year's Sydney Tango Festival is very meaningful to them as all 6 of the maestros invited - Javier and Andrea, Sebastian and Andrea, Fabian and Lorena, have had great influence on their tango as they have learnt from them in workshops, festivals, and their several trips to Buenos Aires in the past years.
